Carol Burns

Carol Burns has held senior positions across the university sector for over 20 years, working to develop a better understanding of the experience of students from all backgrounds and to improve their outcomes.

She has been a member of a number of Government/HE taskforces, including on the visa regime for international students, on reducing harassment and on equality and the gender pay gap.

As a volunteer, she has been Governor and Deputy Chair of Surrey Probation Service; Trustee and Honorary Secretary of Surrey Care Trust and Trustee/Director of Regents University. In addition to ICET, she is currently Chair of Citizen’s Advice West Sussex.
